I got photoshop on windows
when I do that bit-thing it gets all spotted.

document type, black and white, 600 dpi

ohh, that's just on my scanner program, not on photoshop or anything.
it will be different for every scanner, probably. basically you just need to find the options on whatever you're using and change the dpi to 600. you can change it to black and white later on.
